Presbyterian Church can approve constitutional change to accept gay marriage soon
The Presbyterian Church in the United States may be approaching a change in its constitution that would bless gay marriage.

The church's General Assembly voted to accept gay marriage last June, and now, the next move should be the completion of the review of the matter by the 172 presbyteries to change the Church's position on gay marriage.

According to information of Christian Today, yet, the vote was completed in 40% percent of presbyteries governing the church, with 51 presbyteries voting for the acceptance of gay marriage, while 23 voted against the constitutional amendment.

If the previous scenario is taken into account, the possibility of acceptance of gay marriage in the traditional Protestant denomination is great.

If approved, the change in the constitution of the Presbyterian Church establish that marriage is a "single commitment between two people," as opposed to the setting that is currently accepted and that says that marriage is a "single undertaking between and man and a woman ".

Charisma News reports that some Presbyterian ministers have received permission to perform marriages between same sex in US states where the practice is recognized by law.

The greater openness to homosexuality in the Presbyterian Church is not new. Four years ago, the name has to accept the ordination of homosexuals to ecclesiastical ministries, after a close vote.

Divergence
The clash on the acceptance of gay marriage in American churches is performed by those who defend the idea as a way to legalize what already happens in reality and on the other hand, by pointing to the Bible as a reason to continue reproving homosexuality.

The pastor Rob Bell, a notorious supporter of gay marriage, said recently that it is inevitable that homosexual unions are permitted and recognized among evangelicals. "Many people [homosexuals] are already there [in the church]. We think it is inevitable and we are moments away from the acceptance of the Church ".

Have Pastor Woody Butler believes that gay marriage acceptance mark the fall of the church: "Very few Pentecostal churches full of the Holy Spirit opened the door to gay marriage, but unfortunately some have already opened. For me, the names that do this are taking a step to the fall of the church in the United States, "said the leader of Life Church Charleston, North Carolina.
